Indoor Honours Print E-mail
Joanna Mills took 3 Gold Medals in the stand-out performance of the Northern Ireland Agegroup Championships in the Odyssey Arena. Joanna took to the top step of the podium in the 60m Hurdles, 200m and Long Jump, where she was joined on the podium by Amy Alexander. Amy was another repeat visitor to the victory circle, claiming 3rd in the 60m.
 
In the older agegroup Rebecca McAllister took the honours with silver in the 60m Hurdles, silver in the Shot and silver in the Long Jump. Chole-Jade McDonald also claimed a bronze in the Long Jump. Of the boys, Matthew Teggart took a silver in his Long Jump event.
 
In the Senior Irish Championships Gareth Hill produced the performance of the day with a silver medal behind Kevin Kane of Scotland in the Men’s 1500m. Two further bronze medals were claimed in the Women’s Shot by Clare McAleese and in the Pole Vault by Claire Wilkinson.

Remarkable Kyles still available Print E-mail
The book that charts the history of Maeve & Sean Kyle's sporting odyssey, along with that of Ballymena & Antrim AC and pretty much athletics in Northern Ireland as a whole, is still available from the club offices. If you haven't got your hands on a copy of this important almanac yet, then contact us and a copy will can be sent to your home address. The book is priced at £10, with and extra £2 to cover the cost of postage.

 
UK Coach Lifetime Achievement Award Print E-mail
Maeve Kyle was rewarded for her lifetime dedication to UK Athletics when she received recognition from the UK Coaching Awards at the Dorchester Hotel in London. Maeve was honoured with a lifetime achievement award, seeing off the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson in the process.

 
NI Junior T&F Print E-mail
Ballymena & Antrim AC claimed 39 medals at the Northern Ireland Junior Track & Field Championships at Antrim Forum. The impressive haul consisted of 22 Golds, 11 Silvers and 6 Bronze over the 2 days of competition, with a further 7 4th places meaning a total of 46 qualifying performances for the All Ireland Championships next month.
